Production: The Laverda 750 SFC was hand built in Laverda’s competition dept.   It was not a series production machine but intended for racing in long distance events. Minor upgrades were made 1972-73, but 1974 16000-17000 Series models had very significant changes: new 16 fin (vs 13) cylinder head, new Dell’Orto PHB 36 carburetors, optional 2 into 1 upswept megaphone exhaust, new “lowboy” frame and swingarm, triple Brembo disks brakes replacing previous drum units and Nippon Denso gauges on US models.  The 1975 18000 Series brought in a compression ratio increase to 10:5:1, an oil cooler, and most importantly, new Bosch “Electronica” ignition.  1976: cast alloy wheels introduced.

A total of 549 machines were built 1971-1976 comprising the following series: 1971 Pre-production: 20, 1971-72 Series 8000: 80, 1972-73 Series 10700-11000: 60, 1974 Series 16000-17000: 222, 1975 Series 18000: 130, 1976 Series 18000: 33.
